Diluting Power and Responsibility

On July 11th, "…At least 12 tons of concrete fell from the ceiling of one of Boston's Big Dig tunnels, crushing a woman in a car and again raising concerns about the integrity of the massive highway project that is the central artery through the city." Read the rest of the article by AP writer Ken Maguire [here].

While listening to NPR on the way to work today, I heard an update on the investigation into that accident. A person being interviewed pointed out that the Big Dig project was so big and so many companies/people were involved, that in regards to that tragic death, "…when everyone is responsible, then no one is responsible."

This statement alarmed me… how does it hit you? Are we to say that everyone is responsible for global warming, therefore no one is responsible? Can we apply this reasoning to other issues, such as mob violence, the war in Iraq, etc.?

I think that quote is meant to say that when a lot of people are involved, they all just shrug it off onto the other person, and it eventually gets lost. It's talking about how the thought of responsibility gets spread out over a whole bunch of people, and no one is really in trouble.

In this sense, it does apply to global warming and Iraq. We just blame it on the other guy, and there goes our faults, mentally atleast. In reality, the problem is still there, and someone should be held responsible, but people are blind.

I have quite a few things to say, forgive me for not being organized

1) This quote: If everybody is responsible, then nobody is in the right so that they can punsh, therefor nobody is wrong. There is no right and wrong. Mr.B will soon post something(today) about knowledge. There is no knowledge as we think it is, knowledge is a term humans use to say something they think is write...i do not know why i bother to write this right now because how do i know that the people who respond to this are real? they are real to my perspective yes...but it goes deeper and there are no real answers. This also leads me to question 'What is philosophy, and is it a load of crap?' How do you know, if you can honestly persuade me i would be most thankfull(but how do i know YOU persuaded me?) MWAHAHAHAHAAHAHAH
P.S Mr.B knows this and gives us asignments with no answer and no means to comunicate to say what is in our heads because it is all reletive to the human perspective :D

2) Mr.B where can we blog on the SHS area things that we think. I do find it kinda restricting that you can post topics, and we can only talk about those things(maybe im wrong idk only loged on to here a few times and dont know what my password and stuff is so i will know at the end of this post if my password that i put in is right for now i am Ethan)pehaps you could make a few blank topics and later once they form a real topic fill in the name?

ill take a while to get my thoughts in order...bai :P

P.S turns out i dont know my password got to talk to you mr.b
