Power, Authority, and Rule(s)

Within the topic of “Power and Authority” lurk the ever-popular subtopics of rules and laws:

rule a prescribed guide for conduct or action.

law a binding custom or practice of a community : a rule of conduct or action prescribed or formally recognized as binding or enforced by a controlling authority.

Before we begin talking about rules (and potentially rules for Philosophy Club), I think it would be prudent to discuss the personal/social/philosophical values that we may already share within our group. We may (or may not!) then decide to formulate a small set of rules to reinforce—and remind us of—our values…
