John and Alex responded to the last round of writing prompts and agreed that the next question to be explored by our club will be, “Do we need government?”
We will explore anarchy as a possible answer to that question, and will read some of Pierre Joseph Proudhon’s book (first published in 1890), What is Property? An Inquiry into the Principle of Right and of Government. Download an e-text edition of his work [here].

I haven't read this yet, but I plan on it. I just wanted to say that I think an anarchy would be much easier without it. I personally can't stand the thought of most property. The fact that I can't lawfully be on a piece of land that is part of the world I was born into really ticks me off. That I need a passport and security measures need to be taken just for me to venture into a different part of the world is ridiculous. If an anarchy isn't going to be present, I think we should at least drop the notion of 'nation' and 'country,' and give up property as far as land goes, for now.
But without property, and as long as people weren't striving for more of it, then a lawless state would be a better place.
