

I just finished reading an interview with street artist Shepard Fairey in the Nov 07 edition of Juxtapoz magazine… I was struck by Fairey’s perspective on money in the excerpt below, especially the ethical implications of such a perspective:
Success has been a long, slow, and steady climb for Fairey. All his moves are carefully considered and weighed against a deeply internalized code of ethics. For him, the struggle against selling out is virtually nonexistent, because it’s never been about the money. “Money is just a way to do the things you want on your own terms,” he says.
