Today's introduction aside, what aspects of aesthetics would you like to explore within P. Club? What specific questions do you have about art and beauty?

It's an interesting question. we could talk about the merits of 'art." What makes art, what is the importance of art, etc. But doing that runs the risk of making pclub sound like an art class.. We could all make independent art films and show them!
but if we limit our discussion to only what everyone's idea of beauty is, we run the risk of having discussion disintegrate into a bunch of sentimental gibberish.
I think we could give the meaning and definition of art a try for a while... Bring up pieces or scenarios and we could debate whether or not it constitutes of art. It always winds up being a very challenging idea to wrap your head around.
We should try to find a definition of art.
From there, find what constitutes as art.
Definitions are always a good place to start in philosophy... let's try that this Thursday 1-17-08...
